Home / Seajourn / NO TO ANY FORM OF CORRUPTION Part 3 of 4

President Erap: “Walang kaibigan, walang kumpare, walang kamaganak”. However, allegations of corruption spawned an impeachment trial in the Senate, and in 2001 Estrada was ousted by “People Power 2” after the prosecution walked out of the impeachment court when the Senator-Judges voted “no” in the opening of the second envelope.

Former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was arrested on corruption charges related to allegations of misuse of $8.8 million in state lottery funds during her administration.

President Pinoy: “Kung walang corrupt, walang mahirap”. What Pres Pnoy allowed to happen during his administration: 1. Crime tripled – According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, crime incidents rose from 324,083 in 2010 to more than 1 million every year since 2013; 2. The unprecedented crime and drug surge began in 2010; 3. Smuggling multiplied from $7.9 billion in 2009, based on International Monetary Fund data, to $26.6 billion in 2014; 4. More than 2,000 uninspected cargo containers disappeared in 2011; 5. Drug lords take over Bilibid; and 6. The threat of narco-statehood.

And now – President Digong have spoken: “Those who betrayed the people’s trust shall not go unpunished and they will have their day in Court.”

While the laws (RA 3019 and RA 9485) were clearly stated, violations cannot be clearer as demonstrated by the highest officials of the Philippines! Was it surprising to see President Digong meeting with Peter Lim in Malacanang?

Now, therefore, how can we expect that history is changing course! According to Dale Carnegie – “90% of our worries did NOT happen yet”!

As a matter of fact on our daily lives: almost all forms of corruption are happening for a long long time!It is all about corruption in all levels of government! Are we allowed to make a fearless forecast?
